No Namaz By Outsiders at Taj Mahal

The supreme court on Monday said that there is a ban on outsiders from entering Taj Mahal for namaz saying that the monument needs to be protected. The SC said that taking the concern of the protection of the Taj Mahal as it is one among the seven wonders of the world there is no need to perform any kind of prayers there.

On January 24, 2018, the district administration ordered saying that only the local people with a valid Identity card will be allowed to enter and perform prayers. Taj Mahal still is closed for tourists on Friday.

There are also complaints that outsiders namely Bangladesh and other non-Indians are also entering Taj Mahal on the Friday prayer. The district magistrate said that the outsider’s entry might affect the heritage site. The order also stated that the entry of any outsiders must be immediately taken to the notice of the district magistrate.
