Protest at Marina on Cauvery Issue

On Saturday morning a bunch of people went on a flash strike at Marina after the state government filed contempt proceeding against the centre for not constituting Cauvery Management Board. The police immediately deployed at the beach and kept an eye on all the protestors.

After a while, a bunch of people started to protest holding placards and raising slogans. The police immediately started clearing the crowd.

The police did not allow anyone by the service lane of the Kamarajar Salai. Protests should take place with proper permission at designated place said a senior police official.

The deputy commissioner T S Anbu warned the protestors for gathering without prior permission. “There are designated places in the city and police have notified those places. Protests should be held there after obtaining permission. If the general public is affected by protests, police will take action,” he added.
