The Leather Bar is one of the most premium destinations for club-goers in the city.It is located at the Park,Nungambakam. Although a little overpriced, it makes up for those exorbitant prices with a buzzing crowd, fab music and great ambience as well some excellent cocktails. The rich black leather floor blends into olive suede walls whereas the outdoor terrace offers the perfect ambience to unwind with a Martini in hand. They host regular house nights throughout the week including Rock N Roller Wednesdays with DJ Wayne and Thirsty Tuesdays apart from renowned DJ’s like Arnold Misquitta, Sapta, Nischay Parekh and Carlo Ruetz manning their decks regularly. They are best known for their refreshing Cilantro Margarita (Rs 500) and Melon Bellini (Rs 500).A favourite with the moneyed and the macho, Leather Bar is done up completely in leather and chrome. It is minimalist in decor and for the uninitiated this part of The Park gave a whole new meaning to the minimalist movement. A few carefully selected strategically placed pieces of art interest decorate The Leather Bar, while keeping it clutter free, quite unlike what one would expect from a bar in Chennai. Very friendly, the bartenders are not exactly shy to show their skills and their award winning drinks. One of the hot favourites right now is the newly added Mirchi – a chilli infused vodka base mixed with passion fruit juice, lime juice and sugar syrup. Also new on the drinks menu are the martinis. Those on a ‘shot scene’ can try Leather Bar’s fastest selling beauty: Brain Haemorrhage. It comes in shot glasses and is created using an interesting combo of peach schnapps, Bailey’s and a few drops of pomegranate syrup. Waiters here are friendly people who recommend the exact perfect drink to suit your mood. Another thing you will notice is that they remain at your eye level so you don’t have to look up at them and discuss your preferences. Some short eats come with your drinks, but should you crave a ‘hot’ something, the 601 menu offers nice platters that include vegetarian and non-veg options. The entry fee is  Rs 2,500 cover (couples only) and works from 11 am to 4 am (Monday to Sunday).
